MGCY Processes and Procedures

The processes and procedures serves as the primary document that lays out the governance framework of the MGCY. In addition to relevant TORs (terms of reference) its includes internal obligations, and those stipulated in the UN code of conduct. It contains the following sections:

UN DESA Governance Surveys

In addition to the general governance requirements and those of mandated position that are outlined in the MGCY Process and Procedures, the MGCY has reporting obligations towards the UN system, some of which are established in resolutions of international soft law. Some of these include:

  • Periodic Governance Reports to UN DESA  (as per their templates) at the end of the term of organising partners

  • Paragraph 89 (of the 2030 Agenda) report to the High Level Political Forum under the auspices of ECOSOC (Economic and Social Council) and GA (General Assembly) as per the voluntary reporting guidelines for MGoS - Major Groups and other Stakeholders

  • Process Specific Engagement Reports by different constituencies
