United Nations Digital Cooperation: Youth Media Expression Campaign

In support of the Secretary General’s Roadmap for Digital Cooperation and his call to connect, respect, and protect people in the digital age, the United Nations (UN) is inviting young people to contribute to shaping global digital cooperation by sharing their reality with regards to relying on digital technology, their hopes for world leaders, and their demand for global digital cooperation to ensure no one is left behind, including young people.

From August 10-31, the UN welcomes young people from all around the world to submit their take on the importance of digital cooperation in the 21st century and what youth-specific challenges they hope digital cooperation could solve. Young people will be doing this by sharing a video of 90 seconds, under one of the three themes outlined below:

1. Connect: addressing the urgency to achieve universal connectivity

2. Respect: upholding human rights in the digital age

3. Protect: combatting cyberattacks and online harms, including child online risks.

A selected number of videos and answers, with due regard to gender, regional and other diversities, will be reviewed and featured during the UN High-Level Week in September, including at key High-Level events. Submissions may also be used in broader projects and compilations by the United Nations.
