We are excited to announce that applications for the Global and Regional Focal Points (GFPs and RFPs) positions for the Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY) Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Working Group are open! These volunteer positions offer a great opportunity to represent children and youth in leading disaster risk reduction (DRR) efforts and amplifying regional initiatives for disaster risk reduction.
About the Role:
Focal Points play a crucial role in amplifying and coordinating youth-led DRR initiatives in the respective regions. The focal points coordinate and organize knowledge exchange sessions to help youths better understand their role in DRR. In DRR Regional and Global Platforms, focal points ensure the inclusive participation of youth. Additionally, they represent the voices of youth in drafting policies and reports. FPs liaise with relevant UN entities and youth and non-youth stakeholders to support the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.
Open Positions: 3 GFPs, 2 RFPs for Europe and Central Asia, 2 RFPs for the Americas, 2 RFPs for the Arab states, 2 RFPs for Africa, and 3 RFPs for Asia Pacific
