As the 2030 deadline for achieving the SDGs approaches, strengthening inclusive global partnerships and ensuring meaningful participation of young people and rightsholders are critical to restoring trust in multilateralism and shaping governance systems fit for the future.
This youth-led event, convened under the auspices of the UN Partnership Forum and serving as a formal pre-consultation ahead of the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2026, brings together diverse stakeholders to reflect on interconnected and emerging challenges facing the multilateral system. Through two segments with interactive dialogue, the event will examine the future of multilateralism in the context of UN80, including the implementation of the Pact for the Future and international financial architecture reform, while also highlighting partnerships as a key enabler of change for accelerating the 2030 Agenda and advancing SDG 17.
A number of key speakers are expected to join, including representatives from the Executive Office of the Secretary General (EOSG), UNDP, Major Groups, CIVICUS and others!
The event is expected to be interactive in nature, with a lot of opportunities for in-person interventions!
