We are 1.2 million neighbors, friends, and community leaders who come together to create positive, lasting change in our communities and around the world. Our differing occupations, cultures, and countries give us a unique perspective. Our shared passion for service helps us accomplish the remarkable.

From the fight to eradicate polio to efforts to provide clean drinking water, Rotary members are taking action to do good in the world, one service project at a time.

In a time of high fears, uncertainties and unknowns, there is fertile ground for #misinformation to flourish and grow. The World Health Organization says the abundance of fake news swirling around COVID-19 is as dangerous as the virus itself. The situation is true and worsening even after 3 months into the pandemic.

Inspired to curb this problem, a chat-based SOS was designed that general public can use to fact-check news, receive daily updates from WHO and connect with vetted social initiatives. All through a simple easy to use chat interface. This tool has so far been used by 5000 people and usage is growing everyday through word of mouth and rich feedback. You can try it here or read more about it here on Rotary International website.

Support

We aim to further develop the platform to improve the functionality, usability and reach of the tool. Hence we are keen to partner with social initiatives, technologists and funding bodies who’d like to support us! We are looking to incorporate more functionalities in our blog, deploy it on SM pages of credible brands and tying up for more information sources.

Other Needs: Volunteers, Access to information, Space for online meetings (e.g. GoToMeeting)
