I keep asking what’s next. What is next after we all sit back at home to reduce the spread of this virus? What is next when we are no longer starving because our kitchens are fully stocked? What is next when we are tired of doing the same activities in our homes every day? What will happen next? These are questions in majority mind, but nobody has a satisfactory answer.
For some people this is a period for self-development, but the cost of purchasing courses is high. For some others, they have access to free online course but they do not have enough resources for data subscription. For some others this is a time to reflect and spend time with their families but after two weeks they are bored and feel like there is nothing new or interesting to do. These are beautiful answers but according to the international telecommunication union as at 2019,
Africa has the lowest percentage of internet users as only 28.3% of her population has access to the internet. Alongside other reasons ranging from illiteracy to poor infrastructure, high cost of internet services is an important obstacle to internet access.
According to the 2011 estimates, Africa accounts for 15.0% of the world’s population, but only 6.2% of the world internet subscribers are Africans. There are materials and great opportunities on the internet but the cost of assessing these materials are increasing on the steady.
This is the problem the ELLAGE application will solve.
WHAT IS “ELLAGE’ ABOUT?
There are so many online platforms where people get to pay to acquire skills; This application was designed to help its user’s access materials, online courses and games that will help in their personal development of skills and online course at little or no cost.
On this application, there will be several materials that cut across several aspects of the society. There will also be provisions for certification after each course has been completed successfully. Aspects such as:
Medicine,
Law,
Human recourse,
Digital marketing,
Fashion designing,
Farming,
Children school work,
Games and several others.
The app is designed to update itself once in 15days with less than 100megabites per update. Users of this application will get access to good materials that will not only empower them but also cost them almost nothing.
