Meaningfully engaging young people at the United Nations
The United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth is the United Nations General Assembly-mandated, official, formal, and self-organised space for children and youth to contribute to and engage in the United Nations.
We regularly hold consultations with youth and facilitates the meaningful participation of youth in the UN processes.
Since our inception, we have directly and indirectly facilitated, coordinated, and trained youth from over 175 countries and territories in numerous forums, including the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development, the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week, and several other UN engagement avenues. At these meetings and negotiations, we equip children and youth with the knowledge, tools, resources, and platforms with which to identify issues that affect youth and to inform policy processes.
