The target population is low-wage earners, non-settler communities, IPs, the hardest-to-reach villages, and especially those that get very little or no help at all - the marginalized, the indigents, and the most vulnerable in this COVID-19 crisis.

Kapit-Mindanao is a digital fundraising campaign that aims to assist youth-led organizations in giving aid to 20 Mindanaoan communities (in the Philippines) affected by this global health crisis. Funds raised from this campaign will be distributed among these youth organizations to help further their COVID-19 Response initiatives.

The movement was started by Mindanaoan youth leaders from MillenialsPH and I am M.A.D. (Making a Difference) who are based in Manila. These organizations had their own initiatives focusing in Luzon areas and collectively raised almost $14,000.00 (P700,000.00) and counting! We wanted to bring this back home to Mindanao and so another campaign begins!

We decided to put our networks to good use and created the largest Mindanao COVID19 campaign yet run by youth leaders. We created a powerhouse core group composed of Mindanao youth leaders (AYEJ, Project Disponer, & Marejada), pooled in our powerhouse networks (TAYO Awards, Belle de Jour, & Ideas Positive, among others) and called for partners (brands, local influencers, personalities, and youth organizations) who are willing to go on a social media bayanihan spirit with us!

We aim to raise $20,000.00 (P1,000,000.00) that would help us aid 20 target beneficiaries across all administrative regions of Mindanao who are already leading initiatives in their respective communities. If we get lucky (pretty sure we will!) we will add more beneficiaries and aid as many families, organizations, and communities as much as we possibly can.

Cash donations will assist our target beneficiaries with different initiatives ranging from providing PPEs to frontliners, food packs and family kits comprising rice and grocery items, relief goods for indigent communities, and even the production of sanitents.
