Pay It Forward PH started with a group of six friends from university who saw the need and urgency to extend a helping hand as our nation continues to face this pandemic. Since March 21, it grew into a small community we know as Pay It Forward PH. Our youth organisation is dedicated to helping out front-liners, communities (these of which include but are not limited to barangays heavily affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine, farmers, fisherfolk, garbage collectors, janitors, drivers, construction workers, PWDs, and the like), as well as our scientists that comprise of the inventors/engineers/programmers who continue to create innovative designs/solutions/applications that bring efficiency to processes that directly affect our community.

In less than a month, Pay It Forward PH has successfully provided

  • 1,210 meals to front-liners in 13 COVID-19 referral medical institutions;

  • 100 milk supplies to the infants of the community of Obando, Bulacan;

  • 4,000 pieces of pandesal to the districts of Sampaloc and Tondo, Manila - made possible with our partnership with Bread of Salt; and

  • 442 face shields provided to 11 hospital beneficiaries - made possible with our partnership with FATE 4.0 - FabLab and Innovation Hub, and a dutiful volunteer and his family.

  • We have also helped fund community kitchens particularly for our fisherfolk in the city of Bacoor, Cavite.

We work together with partners who prepare warm meals in batches; partners who produce face shields and other medical Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); partners who conduct similar initiatives and who particularly work closely with the communities on-site (such as those outside Metro Manila). Our scope of work is to ensure and process the deliverables of the initiative (i.e. what is needed, what is provided, and what is achieved), and to maintain proper coordination amongst our partners to ensure that food or medical supplies and the like reach those who need it the most.

Support

For production of 300 face shields, we've previously disbursed 15,000 pesos. For our upcoming relief projects, we are looking into placing an order for National Center for Mental Health, Quirino Medical Center and other hospitals that continue to have dwindling supplies for face shields. We've allotted an average of 10,500 pesos to be able to deliver 120 meals to 1 medical institution (amount includes delivery fees).

Further, we are now looking into partners who are able to produce PPE suits, and we are currently missing funding for this. An average PPE suit based on our scoping may cost around minimum 550 pesos per suit. We are also missing the funding needed to support more communities affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine, as our group is keen on focusing on young children and infants who are without any baby supplies (diapers, and the like) and milk during this time. We are currently trying to raise funds for it from social media exposure through our group's official Facebook page, and our personal Instagram accounts.

Other needs: Volunteers, access to information, space for online meetings
